Zora Golcevska

Zora Golcevska laughed at the first thought of attending Azusa Pacific. Now, however, the NAIA champion and school-record-holder is now just as much at home at Azusa Pacific as she is in her native Slovakia.

Q:	Other than family and friends, what is the one thing you miss most about Slovakia?
A:	I miss my mother language and the 4-season weather. I miss the snow, the spring and fall.
Q:	What advice would you give a young Slovakian who is about to come to the United States for the first time ever?
A:	You need to go to a diverse city like Los Angeles and be ready to experience something you never expected. Those worlds are 2 different worlds that can not be compared. You can not bring your expectations for people, and you can not bring your culture and try to rebuild it here. You need to be ready to change your views and open up your eyes for a totally different world. Do not compare these people to those back home.
Q:	If you could re-live one moment of your past three-and-a-half years in the United States, what moment would that be?
A:	The moment I will always remember would be the first visit to Azusa Pacific. Within a couple of seconds that I drove into the parking lot, I experienced peace of mind that I was looking for for all those years. I will never forget that. There were other moments that that were really memorable and changed a view in my life, but that first moment started the whole journey.
