Four Azusa Pacific Students Recognized for Servant Leadership

AZUSA, Calif. –
Azusa Pacific University recently recognized four students with Servant Leadership Awards for exemplary dedication to serving others in various forms. Established in collaboration with the Barney II Foundation, Moore Foundation, and FAJE foundation, recipients were nominated by faculty and staff for exceptional leadership through service on campus, in the community, in academics, and internationally.
Each student received a $1,000 educational award, $500 of which is donated to a community organization of their choice.
Bradley Batesole, senior business marketing major, was recognized for his service to APU. Batesole spent two years as a Resident Advisor as well as served as a leader for multiple Mexico Outreach mission trips and for the Scotland/Ireland and Micronesia mission trips.
Laurel Bishop, senior nursing major, was recognized for her service through academia. Bishop participated in several mission trips through APU and is chair of the Study Abroad Committee of the Task Force for International Nursing (TFIN).
Angel Gonzalez, junior psychology major, was recognized for her service internationally. Gonzalez served as a team leader for the Mexico Outreach mission trips and is heavily involved with the APU ministry, Loving Hands.
Luke Spink, junior international business major, was recognized for his service in the community. Spink has been active in a variety of community outreach programs including Homework House and Think Together. Most notably, Spink took the initiative to form his own outreach by inviting Azusa youth into his home once a week for community and mentoring.
