Profile
Dennis Royse grew up playing trumpet and violin. His broad interests in music have led him in many directions. His dissertation, "Music and the Nongkrem: the Articulation of Meaning in a Khasi Religious Festival in Meghalaya, India," is the only published work on this tribal group and their music.
Since 1985, Royse has been teaching at APU in the areas of Music Theory, Music History, Jazz Improvisation, Music Education, and graduate research. In addition to teaching, Royse has conducted APU's Men's Chorale, Oratorio Choir, Jazz Ensemble, and Symphony Orchestra.
