Profile
John Sutton has been a full-time professional church musician for 20 years. He has directed active church music programs involving more than 300 participants in choral, handbell, and instrumental groups. He is a choral clinician, guest conductor, and frequent conference speaker, bringing to church groups the WorshipLAB experience. He also leads workshops and seminars on worship and choral music. Sutton has appeared as a guest conductor, clinician, or speaker for groups such as the American Choral Directors’ Association, Choristers' Guild, the National Association for Church Musicians, Augsburg Publishing House, the Mt. Hermon Conference on Church Music and Worship, Church Music Northwest, and others. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Sacred Music with an additional major in Biblical Literature from Northwest College, and earned his Master of Arts in Choral Conducting from San Jose State University.
Sutton teaches church music and practical musicianship classes, is one of APU’s choral conductors, and serves as the director of the School of Music’s Artist Concert Series.
